What we do

Budgeting and Family Support is a non-profit-charity-trust based in South Auckland and beyond.  We have been dedicated to helping people achieve better lives for themselves and their tamariki since 1994.

We provide free and confidential help and advice to those experiencing financial hardship, difficulties with debt management, and other social issues impacting households.

Our aim is for everyone to become empowered to successfully self-manage their financial affairs and create brighter futures for their tamariki.

Tangata Whenua

We recognise the special status of Māori as Tangata Whenua and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We will continue to develop bi-cultural practices and service delivery in partnership with local hapū and iwi.

Our Kaimahi

Our staff and volunteers are our greatest resource in achieving our vision. We will invest in unlocking their potential and provide development opportunities to allow them to grow in a safe working environment.

Focus of Service

Our services are planned and delivered in response to the strengths and changing hopes of  communities through Mauri Ora and Whanau Ora support services and programmes.

Special Relationships

We work in partnership with our clients and their whānau and also with community groups, Government agencies and non-Government organisations to promote multicultural relationships that reflect the diversity, culture and ethnicity in New Zealand / Aotearoa.

Ethics

Our services will be provided with the support of recognised professional codes of ethics.

Stewardship

Our Board of Trustees and Management will use our resources efficiently and effectively.

Membership

We are members of FinCap, a non-government organisation which supports 200+ free financial mentoring services in their network. FinCap advocates for change in the building financial capability sector to help prevent people from getting into financial hardship in Aotearoa.

Financial mentoring services can help anybody who wants to gain control of their money.
